A remake/update of the original Counter-Strike, running on the Half-Life 2 Source engine. This title was made available owing to Valve’s Steam downloading service in October of 2004, with a retail release in the Fall of 2005. With a full complement of real planet pistols, rifles and shotguns, Counter-Strike’s battle of terrorists and counter-terrorists became the basic blueprint for many modern team-based online shooters. Now enhanced with the power of the Source engine, the game features drastically improved visuals, enhancements on classic maps, offline skirmish play with AI bots and more. Counter-Strike: Source (commonly shortened to CS:S or simply CSS) is a PC Game developed by the Valve Corporation. It is a complete remake of Counter-Strike using the Source engine. As in the original, Counter-Strike: Source pits a team of Counter-terrorists against a team of Terrorists in a series of rounds. Each round is won either by completing a mission (such as detonating a bomb or rescuing hostages) or by eliminating all members of the opposing team.
